Second Trimester!

I’ve been resting a lot since the last post, and I probably should have written this sooner but… yeah.

At any rate, we went in Monday for a follow up and to keep what was my original OB appointment. [Funny, I haven’t waited until a scheduled appointment YET with this pregnancy. I always come in early with something wrong.]

The doc wanted to check on the length of my cervix since the bloodbath incident so we got to see Dragon Baby and this time my husband was in the room. He was amazed and horrified to see it moving around so much, ha ha! Even the doc said she hasn’t seen a baby move around so much before, so hopefully that is a good sign! Cervix looked good, baby looked great, and very much like a baby, which my husband wasn’t expecting either.

I’m still having spotting, and my doc can’t see anything on the ultrasound so she’s going under the assumption that it must be a very small bleed somewhere. I’m on modified bed rest until further notice. [Which sucks.] In fact, I’ve bled and spotted so much, she’s basically told me to not worry or call unless it’s a red flow again, which is kind of reassuring if she is confident enough to say that. Plus I have the fetal doppler so I can check on the heartbeat whenever, which is really comforting.

This is the pic we got from the ultrasound. The baby was moving around so much, the doc was surprised she got this 3/4 view pic, but I think it’s really neat! [Hubby thinks it looks like something out of Silent Hill. XD]

I can’t wait to find out the gender! Doc told us her guess, but told us to wait until the official gender ultrasound to be sure so we’re not telling until then.

The baby likes to play this game where it runs away from the doppler and hides in the back of my uterus. [It does eventually come up though… I think it realizes that if it cooperates the process doesn’t last that long.] Last night though I told it that if it started kicking me, I wouldn’t have to do this all the time.

So when I lay down after that, baby decided to kick my cervix for the next hour or so. Aww, baby’s first act of sarcasm! Or whatever you’d call that. Defiance? I dunno. I can’t think of the word right now. Pregnancy Brain, ya know. XD [By the way, baby kicking the cervix is a sharp quick pain in the cervix [trust me, you learn to differentiate the cervix from the vagina] with an irregular frequency. It’s an annoying pain.]

I can’t wait to feel movement. I dream about that point. I really do. <3
